Head Coach- Aaron Makelky
Offensive Coordinator, QB & Outside Linebacker Coach   


Coach Makelky is the head coach of the Big Piney Punchers football program.  He has been teaching and coaching in Big Piney for the past eight years, seven in the position of head coach.  He also teaches high school social studies and serves as the Head Middle School Wrestling Coach.  Before coming to Big Piney, Coach Makelky coached one season in Timber Lake, SD.  He served as an assistant coach for the high school football, boys basketball, and track programs.  Prior to that position, he coached in the Bozeman, MT school district.  He coached middle school wrestling for three years and spent two years as an assistant on the Bozeman High School football staff.  He graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT with a bachelor's degree in secondary education. He received his master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Wyoming in the summer of 2015.  He grew up in Conrad, MT.

Coach Stephenson
JV Head Coach, Running Backs and Defensive Line Coach
Coach Stephenson is the JV head coach and defensive line and running backs position coach for our Big Piney Punchers.  This will be his fourth year coaching football.  He also coaches soccer, is the director of the Drama department, Junior class advisor, and peer mentor adviser.  He is a certified Special Education teacher with a Bachelors degree from City University in Seattle in psychology and a Masters in secondary special education from Liberty University.  He currently teaches Read 180 reading intervention and co-teaches Sophomore, Junior, and Senior English classes.  He lived and taught English as a second language in Seoul South Korea for a year.  He grew up in Idaho Falls, ID.

Coach Howard
Assistant Coach, Slots Coach and Defensive Backs Coach

Coach Howard is an offensive assistant for the Big Piney Punchers football team. This will be his third year coaching high school football and first year coaching for the Big Piney football program. His coaching career began in 2009 in Vandalia, Missouri where he served as Head High School Track and Field Coach and Assistant Football Coach for two years. In 2011, He then moved on to Kansas City, Missouri where he coached high school boys and girls sprints and relay teams for two more years. He also has four years of coaching weight room and conditioning experience that he uses to support athletes of every sport. Coach Howard is certified as a Science teacher. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences in 2009 and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instructional Design in 2011, both from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He grew up on a farm outside Fulton, MO.
